Jonas

A few weeks ago, Storm Jonas hit NYC. Let me just say IT WAS INSANE. During the week leading up to it, the reports consistently said 16-22 inches, but Friday came and the reports were down to 6-12 inches. Except on Saturday morning, everyone woke up to more than a foot of snow so back to 16-22 it was!

As for this snow day, it was perfect. Amie V was in town so upon waking up and having a snow day pancake brunch, V, DB, and I got dressed as soon as we could and went out to explore in Central Park and meet up with Amie L. We ended up making bird friends (or I did at least), took a few sled runs, and climbed in the Bethesda Fountain. To warm up after exploring outside for a few hours, we headed over to my favorite city café for some treats (fancy hot chocolate and Dough doughnuts!) before heading on home.

Then the snow day turned into a snow night and Amie DB and I went out again. The streets were eerily quiet with all transportation suspended, but it was so fun to have NYC to ourselves during the third biggest storm on record! We wore our ski goggles and walked in the middle of Madison Avenue to midtown and then headed back through Central Park, hardly running into anybody - that is, until we ended our day at The Pony Bar for some refreshments to warm ourselves up in the best way possible ;). It was truly a perfect day and one I will never forget.
