As it turns out, the festive market was even more festive at night, decked out in bright Christmas lights! We walked (and ate) our way through the market admiring all the German-handiwork and tasting potato pancakes, spiced nuts, chocolate samples, as well as a delicious dried fruit and marzipan-filled bread called "stollen".
Once we got cold, we spent some time inside listening to German music and drinking some gluhwein (and watching those who had drunk way more gluhwein than we had ;p) before heading home.
Chicago, even though you've been cold as anything the past few weeks, you sure do the holidays right!
