2014! :: Part 2

Now for a second part, because one part wasn't good enough. 

Here's July through December: 

In JULY, I went to the 1000 Islands with family and Le Copain. Once I returned, I started my first real-world job and started my quest to become a New Yorker. I also had a fun night in Long Island with a few of the amies, read lots on my commute, and met up with friends in the city a few times for dinner/drinks.


In AUGUST, I made some delicious sangria for a dinner with some amies, Le Copain started med school, the family celebrated Le Frere's birthday out in NYC, I got together with the amies to celebrate one taking the MCAT, and saw This Is Our Youth. I finally got a new laptop, and traveled to Chicago to visit Le Copain at med school for the first time (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)!

In SEPTEMBER I arrived home from my wonderful trip to Chicago. I spent a lovely weekend wine touring/camping in the Finger Lakes with a few of the amies (Part 1, Part 2). I also saw a jazz concert at Lincoln Center, went apple picking, finished watching all of Malcolm in the Middle, went to Central Perk, and hiked with the lovely mother in the Adirondack.

In OCTOBER, I got to see Fleetwood Mac in concert! Le Copain and I had dating anniversary number three. And I went on a ton of weekend trips. The first trip was Long Island one weekend to celebrate Amie V's birthday. The second was visiting Amie DT at Harvard.  The third was Rochester to celebrate my grandmother's 75th birthday. The last was visiting Le Copain in Chicago for Halloweekend. Everything was busy. Everything was good.

NOVEMBER started out in Chicago with Le Copain. We reunited with two of our favorites and I had dim sum for the first time. Once back in NYC, I met up with the former lovely roommates for dinner. After traveling so much in October, I had many weekends home in November. One of these weekends two of the amies and I had our first NYC clubbing experience. The next day, Amie DB and I brunched in Brooklyn and I had my first authentic egg cream. Then I spent another weekend away in Rochester for Thanksgiving.

DECEMBER snuck in real quickly, but it was hard to miss it when the city decked its halls like crazy. I got into Serial, gave up sugar for a week, and Amie DB and I started (and paused) our apartment search. I also turned 23, celebrated Christmas in Rochester, ski instructed a bunch, and was reunited with all of the Cornell amies for a New Year's Eve celebration in Brooklyn!

All in all, it was a good year. :)
