Since we were on the other side of the world, Dan, my aunt, and I took a 48 hour trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. It truly felt like it was a world away, and I loved it.

The flight from Singapore was two hours and so easy. It's funny how uncomplicated travel is when you're not flying into or out of NYC airports. There was almost no stress besides at the very end when we thought the airline lost Dan's bag. We were in the middle of talking about how he'd have to wear elephant pants for our entire trip (he kind of did anyways!), when one of the airport workers hurdled over the baggage carousel and found Dan's bag behind it. Whew!
We headed to our hotel to drop our bags and almost immediately took a tuk tuk into town. The ride was so exhilarating. We weren't going fast, but riding in a carriage on the back of a motorcycle seeing the sights of an unfamiliar foreign city is the coolest. I probably took twenty videos from tuk tuks during the trip!

For dinner, we ate not-too-spicy Khmer curries, fresh spring rolls, tangy vegetables, and drank Angkor beers.

After dinner we wandered around the Night Market and its hundreds of stalls, which carry things like elephant pants, bright colored scarves, and Hindu and Buddhist carvings, and then called it a night in the name of a 4:30 am wake up the next day!

Love all your photos from Cambodia, looks like a great place.
